Nordic Security Advisory

Nordic foresight and global awareness

Independent threat analysis and advisory support for the Nordic region.

NSA is a non-partisan advisory group that analyses terrorism, violent extremism, hybrid threats, and emerging technology-enabled attack vectors affecting Nordic societies and institutions.

Core pillars

Analysis

Monitoring extremist ecosystems, analysing multi-source information, and identifying operational and strategic risks related to terrorism, violent extremism, hybrid activity, and technology-enabled threats.

Advisory support

Preparing confidential briefings, issuing early-warning notes, and advising competent authorities based on transparent assessments of source reliability and information credibility.

Capacity building

Designing targeted training, running scenario-based exercises, and conducting red-teaming activities that help practitioners test procedures and strengthen institutional resilience.

Focus areas

Terrorism and violent extremism

Analysing religiously inspired and politically motivated terrorism, far-right and far-left extremism, single-issue violence, lone-actor violence, and related radicalisation dynamics across online and offline environments.

Emerging technologies

Examining malicious use of unmanned aircraft systems, AI-enabled tools, cyber-physical systems, encrypted platforms, and other technologies by hostile actors, proxies, and facilitation networks.

Hybrid and asymmetric threats

Studying how state and non-state actors blend information manipulation, intimidation, proxy activity, and terrorism-adjacent tactics to generate pressure on societies, institutions, and decision-making.
